Delta Tau-Great Bend
Delta Tau has celebrated 30 years in ESA. Delta Tau is a branch and grow chapter that originated with Zeta Gamma, Great Bend. Over our 30 years we have had many memorable moments together — but our greatest accomplishment has been the friendships that have grown out of our chapter.
Delta Tau has among its member three State Presidents — Dotty Keenan, Coleen Cape and Kim Kummer. One IC President, Coleen Cape served in 2005-2006. Delta Tau is proud to have endowed a scholarship at Barton Community College in memory of our member Marlene Morrison, who passed away from cancer early in our chapter’s history. Delta Tau is proud to have chartered one of the first two collegiate chapters in Kansas at Barton County Community CoIlege, especially proud because one of the members from collegiate chapter was installed in 2010 as Kansas State President — we are so proud of Kim Kummer.
In 2012-2013 our chapter held rush all year to build our membership back up after a branch and grow with Beta Nu. We gained 8 new pledges and 1 reinstatement. We participated in the President's challenge and strike out domestic violence. We will be holding our installation of officers in May and a planning meeting will be held in June. We are looking forward to a fun year.

- In 2011-2012 Delta Tau kicked off the year with a Fiesta Party and had a “white elephant” gift exchange. Members attended a Murder Mystery dinner in October to celebrate Halloween. Their chapter decorated the front room at the Barton County Historical Society for Christmas. The Delta Tau chapter used the theme “Cookies for Santa” and their decorations centered around an old fashioned Christmas through a child’s eyes. Their own Chapter Chef, Judy Burnette prepared a gourmet dinner for their Outstanding Gal recognition in January. They enjoyed a game night to celebrate Fat Tuesday in February. Their educational programs have focused on the theme of “Going Green” and topics have ranged from green cleaners to going green at Halloween to eating more green & gardening.
