Our chapter was chartered November 12, 1964. We are a very involved group of women that love to volunteer for our small community. Our several fundraising activities include catering the Alumni Banquet each May, we are famous for our Mexican Dinner we hold annually each winter, and our most recent fundraising event is the Annual Holiday Homes Tour just completing its fourth year. These three events enable us to support all of our International and State philanthropies as well as our many local projects A favorite project for Beta Epsilon has been supporting the Warm Welcome Home project for many years by supplying home-made baby blankets for an area hospital as well as our own local newborns. We used to hold annual St. Jude Bike Rides until that program was disbanded so this year we are hosting our first Math-a-thon and hope to make this an annual "Pi Day Event" each March at the elementary school. This is a picture of our entire chapter at our annual Hope For Heroes dinner for our local veterans this past November. We have sponsored an Adopt-A-Child at Heartspring for years and faithfully donate items for the Tea & Tour and the state philanthropic project each. Locally, Beta Epsilon supports the After Prom party, members work the blood mobile each month, and decorate the doors of residents at the local care home each month. We also support the local library and award a scholarship to a local senior each year. Each and every year, rain or shine, you will
find our members dressing up in their Halloween costumes for the Fall Festival Trunk or Treat and in the spring you will find us planning and hosting the Easter Party for all the local kids in our community. We may not meet formally in the summer time, but we are still a busy group during the summer months. Frankfort's Summerfest celebration is held each June and we have decorated more floats and walked in more parades than we care to count. Last year was a special year for Frankfort--we turned 150 years old and our members provided Hay Rack Historical Tour Rides around town as well as planned and hosted the Vintage Bridal Gown Style Show displaying and modeling wedding gowns from as young as a few months old to those well over 100 years old. One of our members even wore her OWN 45 year old wedding gown in the style show. Beta Epsilon has spear-headed fundraising for improvements to the local baseball field as well as a huge fundraising endeavor for the local city park chairing the Wildcat Wilderness
playground--a $150,000 project. Beta Epsilon is very supportive of District J, the Kansas State Council, MARC and the International Council. You will always find members of our chapter in leadership roles at these events. Susan Winters and Phyllis Simmons are both past KSC presidents serving in 2001-02 and 2012-13 respectively. Susan Winters was also International Council President in 2012-13 and currently serves as Chairman of the ESA
Membership Corporation Board. Beta Epsilon is a true "Sister Act" that epitomizes the phrase that "ESA Girls Just Want to Have Fun" in everything we do!
