In 2016 our District went to a District Council format. Realizing that our chapters had different expectations and involvement we decided to make sure we kept the communication arm of the District mission but to cut back on meetings. We now have one big social planned yearly and the District Council with representation from all the chapters meets 3 - 4 times a year at the various chapter locations. All members are welcome to come to the council meetings but we really like for all our chapters to participate in the once a year social so we can get to know each other.
2012 - District E: Karen McClellan, Alpha Iota, is on the left, new member. Karen Lowery, Laura Williamson, and Linda Broce (front row) Susan White, Sharon Capanksy (District E Chairman), and Peggy Lenkner. Our District planners worked really hard to get some new ideas for meetings. Only one will be on Sunday afternoon. One will be on a Saturday morning, and one on a Friday night. Plans are for: September Saturday - Fashion Show at Crossroads, Pratt, (9 AM) followed by catered brunch (10 AM) followed by meeting, Sunday, February 3 (tentatively) - Spring Craft Auction, Pratt, followed by meeting, April (a Friday night) Booze, Broads, and Board Games, (Dress up with boas, hats) followed by abbreviated installation ceremony and meeting. Trying some things very different this year will be FUN.
