Anniversary chapter - Delta Delta – Ulysses - 65 years
Delta Delta – Ulysses was chartered on May 16, 1949 by 12 women with three charter members still surviving and living in Ulysses. Delta Delta currently has 12 members who are active at the local, district, and state level. Member, Jerry Phillips was the Kansas State Council President in 1957. She was responsible for our ESA song “The Jewel Pin Song” being copyrighted and adopted at the state and international level after she sang the song solo at the state and Memphis International Conventions. Shirley Keener has her 6th Degree Pallas Athene, five members have their Fifth Degree, three have their Fourth Degree, one has a Second Degree, two have a First Degree and one a First Pearl award. Five members have served as the District Chairman and six have served on the Kansas Board of Directors as a chairman or a committee member. Karen Stinson and Tammi Mitchell were editors of the state newsletter for four years. Delta Delta continues to flourish with fund raisers and donations to local, state and international philanthropic projects. The magic of ESA brings together ladies from different paths who form and strengthen bonds of friendship and sisterhood which we cherish above all else.
