2017-2018 Delta Chi served cookies at a veterans event (among many other activities). Always on the job for their community, this chapter stays involved!
(Presented in 2015 as an anniversary chapter) Delta Chi #1411 was chartered in September 1950 with nine charter members, two which are still living. Many women in Caldwell area have been members through the years, and we also have members who reside in Wellington. We have 13 members at the present time. Concessions and serving meals are our main money making projects. Next year will be the 30th year we have sponsored the St. Jude Mathathon in our local school.

Nestled in southeastern Kansas, the Delta Chi chapter of ESA brings a lot of energy to ESA in Kansas. Always active on the local and state level this chapter will have the current (2011-2012) Kansas State Council President, Marsha Barnes as one of its members.
Delta Chi has the Caldwell community and ESA in their hearts
Each year Delta Chi searches the area youth to make nominations for Outstanding Youth Awards and each year they are very fortunate to select winners at the state level. The 2013 Outstanding Junior High Youth Award Winner was nominated by Delta Chi, Caldwell. The winner is Mariah Ward. (pictured on the right) Mariah went on to win the 2012-2013 International Outstanding Junior High Youth award. She will receive her award at the IC convention in Virginia in July. Delta Chi and her family are very proud of Mariah as they are of all of their area youth nominees.
We are proud of our member Marsha Barnes!
Marsha served in various positions of leadership on the Kansas State Council like many of our chapter menbers. She was the 2011-2012 State President of the Kansas State Council. We also have other members who actively serve in positions of leadership on the state level. Jill Mattingly was elected as the new Secretary for 2013-2014 and we hope will make way through the offices to one day also become a State President for ESA in Kansas.
Delta Chi-Caldwell celebrated 60 years in 2010. Delta Chi Sorority was chartered in September 1950. There are presently two charter members still living, and they both Live in the Caldwell area. We have had numerous members that have served as District Chairs and many have served on the Kansas State Council. At the present time we are proud to have Marsha Barnes a 35 year member serving as Vice President on the State level. In the past Delta Chi have had up to 40 members in the chapter but at the present due to the downturn in census in small towns we have only 11 members. We are proud of the many avenues we have been involved in and are very proud of our affiliation with ESA.
In 2011-2012 they had an event over labor day weekend serving a meal called "Grab your Grub" during a weekend featuring (among other things) the start of a cattle drive. They were celebrating Caldwell's 140th year and Kansas' 150th year. They have had some really interesting education programs. The members had a good time taking a road trip to Hutchinson to tour the Salt Mines. Another trip was to Yoder, Kansas where they were served a homemade Amish meal at the Yoder Kitchen followed by a talk by well-known author, Maynard Knepp. They also had a hospice outreach, where members and townspeople brought items for bags to give to Hospice families. They had a couple who came and demonstrated how they grind their own wheat for flour and make their own bread.

Social time is both fun and relaxing for Delta Chi and their families.
Delta Chi has one of its Family Nights! (Left) Marshall Love, Gary Ginn, Tom Bocox, and Linn Shaffer kick back and relax on a pleasant fall evening.
And they are always ready to welcome someone new into their group.
